CDS stands for Community Development Service in the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC). It is a service you provide to your host community that is not related to your primary assignment location (PPA). You are assigned to CDS as your secondary location.
Every week, there is a NYSC CDS. For CDS, all Corpers must gather in their Local Government Area (LGA). You have the option of choosing or changing your CDS day. Keep in mind that Community Development Service (CDS) is required.
There are four key programs that make up the National Youth Service Corps:
- Parade to conclude/sign off (POP)
- Introduction to NYSC (Camping)
- Initially assigned location (PPA)
- Development Services for the Community (CDS)
What’s the duration of CDS? The Local Government Area’s CDS runs from 8 AM to 12 PM. That CDS lasts for four hours is a given. Even yet, some places frequently have delays when signing attendance.
