However, Benjamin clarified in the statement released on Monday that there is no such thing as a standard minimum UTME score for tiers of tertiary institutions, and JAMB does not decide any such criteria for any institution for the purposes of admissions.
He asserted that the precise procedure followed in the conduct of the admission exercise into tertiary institutions in the nation was the one that the former President of the Academic Staff Union of University (ASUU), Dr. Nasir Fagge, explained and was reported in the media.
Earlier,
Why JAMB Cut-Off Mark Is Low was revealed by Prof. Jeremiah Ojediran, Vice Chancellor of Bells University of Technology.
Ojediran pointed out that the choice would level the playing field for applicants.
Ojediran stated that the caliber of education would not be impacted by the ongoing lowering of UTME cut-off points.
When it comes to the standard of admission, he continued, the results of the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) are what actually count.
